The Final Will Still Has to Be Properly Signed
Under the Wills Act 1959, the testator's signature must be made in the presence of two or more witnesses who are present at the same time, and the witnesses must attest and subscribe the will in the testator's presence.
For that reason, “online will writing” refers mainly to how instructions, consultation and drafting are handled. It should not be confused with an automatically valid electronic form completed without the required execution formalities.
The Wills Act contains provisions affecting gifts to an attesting witness or the witness's spouse. Independent witnesses are therefore generally preferable.

Is an “online will” automatically valid in Malaysia?
No. The fact that instructions or drafting are completed online does not itself make a will valid. The final will must still comply with the applicable legal requirements, including proper execution and witnessing.
Do I need to visit your office?
Most of the preliminary process can be handled remotely. The appropriate arrangement for final execution depends on your circumstances and the signing method advised for your will.
Can foreigners use this service?
Foreigners with Malaysian assets may seek Malaysian will-writing advice. Cross-border estates can involve additional succession and probate issues, so the appropriate structure depends on the person's assets and jurisdictions involved.
Can I appoint guardians for my children?
A will can contain guardianship provisions, but the clause should be considered together with the applicable guardianship law and the circumstances of the family.
Can I change the will later?
Yes, subject to legal capacity and proper testamentary formalities. Major life changes are a good reason to review the will.
Can my beneficiaries act as witnesses?
This should be avoided because the Wills Act contains provisions affecting gifts to attesting witnesses or their spouses.
