Where a bank has a registered charge over an individual or strata title, further documentation may be required to formally discharge the bank’s charge from the property.

For properties secured by assignment, a Receipt and Reassignment may instead be applicable.

Transfer of Property After Death

When a registered property owner passes away, the property does not automatically become registered in the beneficiary’s name.

After obtaining the appropriate Grant of Probate, Letters of Administration or other estate authority, further conveyancing and land registration procedures may be necessary to transfer or otherwise deal with the deceased’s property.
